L'Esperance is wonderful, we chose it, we love it, but our circumstances have changed and our boy grown up and we don't spend so much time there, therefore, we want to sell it, buy a motor home and do a bit of travelling. (We are calling it "Adventure before dementia" !!!) We decided to write this page because we visited lots of houses in our search for L'Esperance whose descriptions by the estate agent did not match the actual property on viewing, we did not want this to be the case for viewings of our property so decided to give a little bit more information.
Location L'Esperance is is not a village property, it is in a rural location and used to be a working farm. The village, Ladignac, is not a stroll away, you couldn't just stroll down there for milk and bread. Visiting children cycle to the village and the swimming lake there but older adults like to take the car! Electric bikes would be ideal.
Front Garden Is not lawn, it is maintained paddock grass, regularly cut. Other than grass there is tarmac at the front.
The Hanger at the Back This is a great area and could be used for many things. The hanger currently has the building debris from the renovations and wood/tree remains from a huge pine tree taken down from the front of the house in it.
The Fosse (Septic Tank) The house is not on main drainage therefore there is s Septic Tank "fosse Septic" which has recently been inspected. It works perfectly and can remain as it is whilst the house is used as a holiday home but, due to the renovations, will need to be replaced with a larger one when the house is lived in all the time, or in the next 5 years, which ever arrives first.
Bathrooms There is not a bath at the house, both the en suite and the family bathroom have showers. However, in the family bathroom there would be room for a bath if you remove the shower cubicle. We made sure this was possible when carrying out the renovations.
Inside As it says on the website, the inside of the house is whitewashed, a builders finish. Painting jobs to be completed: downstairs loo and utility room still need whitewashing, the sitting room ceiling is wooden, stained wood, this needs painting and some of the internal doors need painting. The stairs are very steep. These were the only stairs we could get to fit at the time of the renovation but we have left enough room for replacement stairs with an extra turn in them to be put in, making them less steep, if required.

That's it, negativity over, nothing too mind blowing !!
